Meridian Music School has been a cornerstone of central Indiana’s music and performing arts education since 1988. With locations in Carmel and Fishers, the school provides private lessons, group classes, ensembles, youth theater, and summer camps for students of all ages. Our recital and performance venues—Goodwin Hall and The Switch Theatre—serve as gathering places for the community to experience the joy of music and the arts.
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized Office Manager to run the daily operations of Meridian Music School. This role is central to ensuring a welcoming, professional, and efficient environment for students, families, and staff. The Office Manager serves as the eyes, ears, and face of the school—often acting as the primary point of contact when the owners are not present.
This is a part-time position averaging 30 hours per week. Training will be provided for the software and cloud-based systems used to operate the school.
Hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 2:00PM - 8:00PM
- Friday: 2:00PM - 6:00PM
- Weekend: Flexible; not required
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Customer Service
- Greet students, families, and visitors with warmth and professionalism
- Answer phones, respond to emails, social media messages, and other communications
- Assist with lesson and performance scheduling
- Handle customer billing questions and provide support for account-related concerns
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional customer relations
Office & Marketing Support
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, including filing, data entry, supplies, and recordkeeping
- Support light marketing tasks including social media updates, internal signage, and digital communication
- Assist with coordination of recitals, concerts, and community events
Facilities & Custodial Duties
- Perform custodial work daily to maintain a clean, welcoming environment (classrooms, lobbies, restrooms, and common areas)
- Monitor facility needs, report maintenance issues, and ensure spaces are prepared for lessons and performances
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required; some college preferred)
- Experience in office administration, customer service, or education environments preferred
- Teaching or arts-related experience (1 year, preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Reliable transportation; ability to commute to Carmel/Fishers area
Schedule & Job Type
- Part-time (approx. 30 hours per week)
- Monday through Friday, afternoons and evenings
- Flexible weekend opportunities if desired
